When
we enrolled Sandhya Nagaraj at SR Tennis Centre, she was
about 8years old. Like any other parent, our intention was
to get some exercise and physical activity along with regular
school. Sandhya was training in the evening. Soon Mr. Rajagopal
with his expertise, found out that Sandhya is a potential
tennis player and he started to concentrate on her technical
skills and other fitness activities very seriously. With
his two daughters Sandhya became a third one in his family.

As non-sports parents with no sports background, we were
initially wondering if it is possible to raise the child
in sports. Mr.Rajagopal and his team took a lot of care
about Sandhya and at a very fast pace, Sandhya made it to
State level and from there to National level and from there
to International level.
We take this opportunity to mention about
Mr. Rajagopal, his ambition, his sincerity, his dedication
and his perseverance to develop the tennis center to what
it is now. It is heartening to know that the tennis school
is now accommodating about various sports and arts. Our
hearty wishes to Mr. Rajagopal that the school soon becomes
a Sports University which will be the only one in India
or may be he has a much greater vision which we will come
to know as and when he implements! We also take this opportunity
to mention that the Tennis Courts at SR is the best maintained
clay court in India. We are glad to see that Shri Rajagopal’s
ambition of having a well lit tennis courts in the nights
to be used after office hours for working category is fulfilled
and in operartion for past 3-4 years. Though there are several
other sports facilities in the centre as mentioned earlier,
a very clean and hygienic swimming pool is another example
for his sincerity and tenacity.

We
enjoy participating in ur tournaments because you value
the time of the players & their escorts. Good use of
technology & prompt communication of the schedule is
worth emulating by other tournament organizers. Keep up
the good work & thanks for being a bench mark for others.

The
coaching was very good when we came for week end classes,
way back in june 2005. We continued this for some time and
later shifted full time to SR, in few months. No wonder
that we shifted residence close to SR, Changed her school,
to give her more time to concentrate on her tennis. This
is the only tennis center in Chennai, where the coach is
behind you all the time, you are in court, whether it is 5.30
am in the morning or 7.30 pm in the evening. |

The
markers too have experience in teaching, and are capable
of beating any of the players here. The fitness routine
here is second to none and it is this aspect which helped
my daughter maintainsame weight for two years now. This
made her fleet footed and show in the results off late.
I am certain many of the juniors here are National material,
and in the near future, we may see the names prominently
in Sports columns of National dailies.

I
have been a regular member of S. R. Sports for the last
7 years, whenever I visit India and however short the visit
is, I make sure that I sweat it out at S R. Run by a family,
with no other monetary or political support, it is amazing
the way they invest money in promotion of sports. Another
other person would have made a luxury apartment in such
a huge premise. They have made best use of the available
space to include as many activities as possible and every
activity is being run by a team of professionals. Kudos
to the management. The passion and the dedication driving
the talented family is a boon to people around.

Gone
are the days when sports was considered secondary to education.
Sport in India has come of age. Great sports personalities
have emerged victorious at State, National and International
levels. All great achievements come from proper training
and consequently a good school. The S.R. SPORTS SCHOOL at
Nanganallur, Chennai is an outstanding example. Step foot
in the premises, the inspirational quotes on the walls surrounding
the tennis courts display the professionalism. |

Under
the able guidance of Mr. S. Rajagopal , founder director
of the school, training is being imparted in various sports
to many aspirants. With a passion for sports and willingness
to excel in teaching skills, he has set up a culture which
is contagious. The teaching staff is well groomed and dedicated.
Mr. Rajagopal with a keen eye and sound technical knowledge
in tennis has an uncanny knack of dealing with children.
Understanding the psychology of each child is an art well
known to him. With his affectionate but firm methods, he
is able to bring the best out of his students.
Keeping in mind the rigorous demands of tennis, they have
devised innovative fitness drills. That apart they have
shown keen interest in acquiring latest technological equipment
to enhance performance skills. As a parent, my association
with the school for two and a half years has been encouraging
and rewarding. I would like to add that such a relationship
needs to be nurtured. One has to be a part of the school
to understand, enjoy and fulfill ambitions of becoming a
successful sports person.
